Just a few pics of one of our End Of Season sail runs in the Gulf Islands.  Sailing in the Pacific Coast Autumn season can be a bit cool, weather unpredictable...  Coming out of the summer season where the sun dominates the weather patterns and unsettled weather takes control...  That sounds perfect to me....  wind...  But not on this trip!  We had light winds..

Perfectly flat water is just as well, we had just enough to get us slowly to our barbecue planned for later..

Two boats, and just enough wind to keep headway..

Sometimes its just about the moment, taking what is given and moving forward.

Every so often, the sky gives us gifts if we'd look up.  Take our eyes away from whatever screen we are looking at.

.

But its time to head for the Bay fire up the bbq,
Later in the year, the signs to set hook come earlier...  Besides, I'm hungry!

Westcoast life

There's a screen to look at!  Like a giant mirror!

Tomorrow's forecast...  Sunshine and light wind.....  So, what to do?  Explore!

Leisurely coffee, bask in the mid morning sun and its time to check out a rarely visited Islet.  Ragged Islet is just North of North bay, Thetis.

Care should be taken dropping a hook here.  Ridged reefs and a fair current.

Crushed shell beaches surround this little island.  Current swept and a good possibility of reef life.  A snorkel is definitely in the near future to cool off in this late summer sun.

Gotta love the quick getaway...  This is the best way to have a staycation.  Last night on the boat and it looks like another good day on the water tomorrow.  Its a sailors life.
